KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence today.
Chief Minister Kandel has submitted a letter requesting arrangements for the vote, according to the Secretariat of the Provincial Assembly. He said that he has given notice for the said provision as per s Rule 150 (1) of Karnali Province Assembly Rules, 2079 BS.

CM Kandel will be taking the vote of confidence as per Article 118 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. This will be the second time CM Kandel takes a vote of confidence during his tenure.
The change was prompted by the CPN (Maoist Center) withdrawing its support for the government led by CM Kandel following a change in the central government.
The Karnali Provincial Assembly, which consists of 40 members, is currently composed of 14 members from the Nepali Congress, 13 from the CPN (Maoist Center), 10 from the CPN-UML, and one each from the CPN (Unified Socialist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Swatantra Party.
Kandel now seeks a vote of confidence to form a new government with the support of the Nepali Congress (NC).
