KAPILVASTU, Dec 9: Kapilvastu District Sports Development Committee is set to hold the Ancient Kapilvastu Mini Marathon on Friday with the aim of spreading peace and harmony. Organizing a press meet on Wednesday, the committee informed that the 21 kilometer marathon will begin from Mahendra Gate of Taulihawa and end at Jitpur-4.
Chhabi Regmi Magar, president of the committee, said that more than 200 athletes will take part in the marathon.

"We have been organizing the event with the aim of maintaining peace and spreading harmony among the people of different communities as the country is in a critical situation at present," said Magar.
The committee will also promote ancient sites associated with Buddha as well as seek to develop of sports in the district. Winner, runner-up and second runner-up will bag Rs 15,000, Rs 12,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
