KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club’s Kanchhi Maya Koju won the women’s category of the third Pinkathon Marathon in Kathmandu on Saturday.
With the title in the main category half marathon, Koju has been able to win the tournament for three straight times.
She won the title after finishing the regulated race in a timing of one hour: 21 minutes: 44 seconds.
The other departmental team Nepal Police Club’s Rajpura Pachai became second and APF’s Pushpa Bhandari stood third.

With the title win, she took home a cash prize of Rs 51,000, while the runner-up Pachai and third-placed Bhandari were rewarded with Rs 31,000 and Rs 21,000 respectively.
In 10-km race, APF’s Santosh Shrestha won the tournament, while Chandra Raut and Saraswati Kathayat became second and third respectively.
The winner Shrestha bagged a cash prize of Rs 31,000, while the runner-up Raut and third-placed Kathayat were rewarded with Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively.
Likewise, Samana Karki lifted the five-km race, and Fulmati Rana and Kajal Bista finished in the second and the third spot respectively in the tournament. The winner Karki won Rs 11,000.
Sanuka Thapa won the title in the three-km race, while Saraswati Shrestha and Pratima Karki stood second and third respectively.
The Pinkathon initiated by Indian actor Soman as an effort to build a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world with the empowerment of women is very popular in India.
It started in Nepal in 2017 and Leisure Port Nepal organizes the event.
According to Namaraj Joshi, managing director of the organizing committee, around 2,500 women participated in the third edition of the event.
Only female can participate in the event. About 3,000 female runners participated in the events that were divided into 10-km, five-km and three-km categories.
Earlier, only the winning players of 10-km race were awarded though winners of five-km race and the three-km race were also announced.
