The duo is among the eight police personnel who have been accused of destroying evidence from the crime scene and tourturing alleged victims in the rape and murder of 13 year old Nirmala Panta on July 26, 2018.
However, of the eight, only six, excluding Bista and GC, presented themselves at the court. Those who recorded the statement are DSP Gyan Bahadur Sethi, inspector Jagdish Bhatta, Ekendra Khadka, DSP Hari Singh Dhami, Ram Bahadur Thami and constable Chandani Saud, according to Hari Krishna Awasti, a registrar at the district court.
“We’ve completed recording their statement. However, we’ve not been able to record those of Dilli Bista and Angur GC as they were not present,” Awasti said. In turn, the court has issued a warrant against Bista and GC.
