The RNGC caddie scored 115 over 27 holes for a three-stroke victory over Gorkha Lama. Defending champion Prakash Neupane finished third at 120. Out of the total cash prize of Rs 125,000 the top three players received Rs 18,000, Rs 12,000 and Rs 9,000, respectively.[break]
Dinesh Prajapati, Ashish Pariyar and Kamal Thapa jointly secured fourth position at 122 and pocketed Rs 6,833 each. Four players -- Om Thakuri, Bikash Adhikari, Bhuwan Koirala and Anil Lama -- were tied for the seventh place with the score of 123. They received Rs 2,500 apiece.
Gyanendra Raut, Amit Bogati, Bijaya Lama and Sunil Bhandari shared the 11th position at 124, while Jivan Thapa and Krishna Singh finished joint 15th scoring 125 each.
The winner of the tournament, Kaliraj also bagged the most birdies award with three birdies, while Madhav Gautam received the longest drive award and Bikash Adhikari won the closest to the pin award.
Altogether 64 players -- 40 from RNGC, 10 from Gokarna, 6 from Pokhara, 5 from Army and 3 from Dharan -- had competed in the third edition of the tournament sponsored by ISME Pvt Ltd.
The cut was applied after the 18 holes and 23 golfers played the final nine holes. Chairman and CEO of ISME Pvt Ltd Nagender Pampati, among others, gave away prizes to the winners.
ISME is also sponsoring the CMS Amateur Open being held at the RNGC from April 8-9. They are also planning to organize a pro event next month.
