DOLPA, April 21: The Jufal Airport has resumed operations after 53 days of closure for runway repairs. The airport became operational again following the landing of a Tara Air flight from Nepalgunj this morning.
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Engineer Bir Prasad Shahi stated that the runway was repaired at a cost of Rs 60 million, including value-added tax. A total of 185 meters of the runway has been repaired.
Airlines had previously expressed concerns about the risks of operating flights due to the deteriorated runway. The Jufal Airport is the only airport in Dolpa.
