#Judge-Advocate Audio Clip Controversy

KATHMANDU, June 22: A meeting of the Judicial Council held on Wednesday has decided to form a three-member committee under the coordination of Judicial Council member Ram Prasad Shrestha, according to Spokesperson Maan Bahadur Karki of the council.
The committee will look into the case regarding Kathmandu District Court’s Judge Raj Kumar Koirala, after an audio clip of him and Advocate Rudra Pokhrel making a deal of Rs 20 million to release Operator of Civil Savings and Credit Cooperative Limited, Ichchha Raj Tamang on bail, was made public on Tuesday.
Judicial Council members including Shrestha, Patna High Court’s Acting Chief Judge Mahesh Prasad Pudasaini and another Judge Mahesh Sharma Poudel are in the committee formed by the council and have been given 45 days to submit their report.
