KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has affirmed its commitment to remaining within the government, reiterating the significance of the five-point agreement introduced by the Prime Minister for the investigation into the Gaur murder case. The party is set to deliver its official standpoint on this matter during an upcoming press conference scheduled for Friday.

JSP is poised to address the public and media during the press conference, where its spokesperson, Manish Suman, will make an official statement. Suman articulated, "We firmly believe that the government should honor the five-point agreement proposed by the Prime Minister concerning the Gaur murder case. This represents our stance." Suman went on to add, "All pertinent details will be presented and elaborated upon during the press conference on Friday."

The alignment of views between the Prime Minister's accord on the five-point agenda for the Gaur murder case investigation and the JSP leadership led to internal disagreements within the party. These disagreements, however, are not anticipated to strain the party's relationship with the CPN (Maoist Center), which currently heads the government. Suman emphasized that the dispute over the Gaur murder case inquiry would not be a destabilizing factor for their coalition.

Sources within the JSP reveal that following the Prime Minister's commitment to probe the Gaur murder case through the five-point framework, a telephone conversation transpired between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav. During this conversation, the Prime Minister reportedly reassured Yadav, urging him not to be unduly perturbed by the unfolding situation.
