KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is said to hold its statute convention in April. A meeting of the executive committee, which started on Sunday at the party office in Balkumari, decided to hold the statute convention on April 10, 11 and 12.
JSP has held a meeting of its executive committee to discuss the latest political situation, elections of president, vice president, statute convention, integration with various parties, among other issues.
Statute convention of JSP to begin from tomorrow
Executive Member Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav informed Republica that the Statute Convention Drafting Committee formed under the leadership of party chairman Upendra Yadav is working and the said committee will prepare a report before the session.
Similarly, the issue of the presidential election to be held on March 9 is also being discussed in the meeting. Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal is also in favor of electing the next president of the country through national consensus.
In that meeting, it is said that the executive members said that the selection of the president should be based on national consensus and the JSP will also follow the same line. There was also a discussion on the need to submit the investigation report on the intraparty betrayal during the last House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.
JSP has said that it is discussing with other parties including CPN (Unified Socialist) the prospects for party unification.
