JSP-Nepal Chair elected unopposed, candidates contesting for key positions announced

KATHMANDU, July 14: The Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP-Nepal) is holding elections for various party positions during its ‘First National Convention of Unity.’

Upendra Yadav has already been elected unopposed as the party chairman. The election committee has announced the list of candidates for other posts, including three candidates for the vice-chairman position: Lalbabu Raut, Rakam Chemjong, and Raj Kishore Yadav.

For the five vice-chairmanship positions, there are 23 candidates, with 17 men and six women competing.

The male candidates include Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Hari Narayan Yadav, Ang Dendi Sherpa, Vidyut Bajracharya, Arjun Thapa, Govinda Chaudhary, Shiva Lal Thapa Magar, Saroj Kumar Yadav, Mohammad Khalid, Prakash Adhikari, Bacha Raut Ahir, Surendra Prasad Kurmi, Rambachan Ahir Yadav, Mandhwaj Balon, Amresh Narayan Jha, Rajan KC, and Suman Kumar Chaudhary, while the female candidates are Rekha Yadav, Leeladevi Sitaula, Shobha Devi, Suni Lama, Sabita Yadav, and Radha Thapa.

For the two general secretary positions, the nominees are Bom Bahadur Darlami Magar, Ram Kumar Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Deepak Karki, Manish Kumar Suman, and Ashok Kumar Yadav. 

The candidates for the joint secretary positions include Dr Surendra Kumar Yadav, Rambabu Prasad Yadav, Ram Kishore Prasad Yadav, Rajkumar Rai, Yogendra Rai Yadav, Shailendra Prasad Sah, Suresh Kumar Mandal, Dr Jai Prakash Rai Yadav, and Jairam Yadav, with Sitakumari Yadav, Binita Kumari Yadav, and Nirmala Yadav running for the women’s joint secretary general positions. Renukumari Yadav, Balram Mahato, and Sanjay Kumar Yadav are competing for the role of treasurer, while 34 candidates have announced their candidacies for the post of secretary.
