BIRATNAGAR, Sept 15: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) held a demonstration in front of Biratnagar Metropolitan City. JSP cadres, who arrived in Biratnagar Metropolitan City with a rally, staged the protest demanding action against the city police for alleged misconduct.
The protesters also called for the resignation of Biratnagar Metropolitan Mayor Nagesh Koirala. During the demonstration, there was a dispute between the protestors and the police in front of Biratnagar Metropolis.

The dispute between JSP Morang Chairman Raj Kumar Yadav and the city police arose earlier in the week over the issue of wheel locks on city rickshaws. This dispute escalated into a physical altercation between Yadav and the on-duty city police officers. Following the altercation, Yadav was arrested by the city police and taken to the ward police office in Biratnagar.
Despite an initial agreement reached between the two parties at the ward police office, a new dispute arose after a video of Yadav being forcefully removed from a pharmacy went viral.
The movement against the metropolis began on Friday under the leadership of the JSP Biratnagar Metropolis. Yadav, the chairman of JSP Morang, stated that the protest will continue until action is taken against the city police involved in the incident. Yadav claimed that he was mistreated by the city police when he filed a complaint against a rickshaw driver.
JSP activists from Gudri in Biratnagar reached the metropolitan city with a rally, chanting slogans.
