JP Gupta reveals he held secret talks with Goit

RAJBIRAJ, June 7: Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta, the cordinatior of the Tarai-Madhes National Campaign, held talks with Jaya Krishna Goit, the chief of an armed underground outfit in the Tarai, at Katihari of Indian state of Bihar in India. Gupta said the talks were held in a secret location and informed that they plan to hold more rounds of talks. According to Gupta´s facebook account, the talks were held on May 30 and 31.



”We held several rounds of talks during the two days and have agreed to give continuity to talks,” Gupta told Republica. These are the first known talks between Gupta and Goit since Gupta´s release from jail in March. Gupta, a fromer minister for information and communications, was convicted of curruption and served 13 months prison term.[break]



Gupta and Goit would exchange letters through well-wishers while Gupta was serving term in Dillibazar prison.



According to Gupta, Goit told him that he would continue his armed struggle until India under UN mediation does not agree to resolve the problems created by the 1950 Treaty [of Peace and Friendship].



Gupta has attempted to justify his meeting with Goit saying that both of them share common vision for Madhes.
