Johnnie Walker green label reintroduced

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Johnnie Walker is reintroducing its much-loved blended malt Scotch whisky in Nepal due to popular demand. Introduced in 2005, Johnnie Walker Green Label is crafted from malt whiskies from classic distilleries across Scotland that have been matured for a minimum of 15 years, said the company.

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Johnnie Walker is reintroducing its much-loved blended malt Scotch whisky in Nepal due to popular demand. Introduced in 2005, Johnnie Walker Green Label is crafted from malt whiskies from classic distilleries across Scotland that have been matured for a minimum of 15 years, said the company.


"Johnnie Walker Green Label will be available in selected stores in Nepal at Rs 8,000 for one liter and Rs 6,150 for 750 ml pack," it said, adding that Johnnie Walker revised its range in 2012 with the introduction of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and Johnnie Walker Platinum Label, after which Johnnie Walker Green Label was discontinued across global markets with the exception of Taiwan where it has remained on sale. "Johnnie Walker recently announced that it was bringing the blend back into its range globally, including Nepal," the company said in a statement.

NIC Asia opens two new branches

 NIC Asia Bank on Wednesday two new branches in Kushma of Parbat and Jeetpur of Bara. It also inaugurated an extension counter on Birat Medical Teaching Hospital premises on the day. While the Kushma branch was inaugurated by Hari Om Lamichanne, chairman of Parbat Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the branch in Jeetpur was formally opened by Ghanshyam Giri, Chairman of Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the bank said in a statement. Similarly, the extension counter was inaugurated jointly by Ramu Paudel, director of Nepal Rastra Bank and Gyanendra Man Singh Karki, chairman of Birat Hospital Pvt Ltd. With these additions, the number of branches in the bank's network has reached 79. Similarly, the bank has 69 ATM outlets across the country. "NIC Asia Bank is one of the largest private sector commercial banks in the country in terms of capital base, balance-sheet size, customer base, number of branches and ATM network," the statement added.


NB Bank opens branch in Musikot

Nepal Bangladesh (NB) Bank Ltd has opened its 38th branch office at Musikot of Rukum district. Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the bank said that its board member Madhab Prasad Neupane inaugurated the new branch office. The bank operates with a network of 38 branch offices, two extension counters, seven branchless banking units, and 36 ATM outlets, according to the statement.


Industrial Trade Fair in the offing

The Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries is organizing International Industrial Trade Fair and Technological Expo at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from April 19 to 23 next year. The expo is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agricultural Development, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Nepal Agriculture Research Council and different universities, the organizers said in a statement on Wednesday. The expo will feature different industrial products of Nepal and new technology from countries like China, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, among others. The expo will have 300 stalls. The organizers are expecting more than 100,000 visitors.
