KATHMANDU, July 5: Jitendra Basnet, head of the peace, security and crime control section of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the chief district officer (CDO) of Kathmandu.
After the current CDO Ghanshyam Upadhyaya was promoted to the post of secretary, the ministry appointed Basnet as the CDO of Kathmandu.
Basnet became a joint secretary eight years ago. He has already worked as the CDO in Gorkha, Chitwan and Parsa districts.
