The party said 42 percent of total seats should be allocated under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system and the remaining 58 percent seats under the proportional representation (PR) system.
The major political parties had agreed to allocate 50 percent seats under FPTP and PR each. “The CA election must be held on November 19. Our party will protest any decision to defer the polls,” said a statement issued by the party on Thursday. [break]
The party has stood against the proposal to expand the High Level Political Committee by accommodating leaders from other political parties. The party has decided to launch Madhes Awareness Campaign for 10 days starting August 26.
