Jeweler kills six-year old for gold

MYAGDI, Nov 15: A jeweler kidnapped a six-year-old schoolboy and killed him by throwing him into a river for gold worth Rs 2,500 in Myagdi.



Subash Biswakarma of Baglung-7, who runs a jewelry shop in Tatopani, admitted to the police that he killed Nikesh Phagami, son of Lok Bahadur of Kuhun-4. [break]



The six-year old was a student at Tatopani English School, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya.



Biswakarma admitted that he threw the boy into the river after getting hold of the boy´s golden earning. Biswakarma lured the boy to his shop promising to give him chocolates last Saturday, and threw him into the river the same day, said Acharya.



“Investigation revealed that he crushed the earring and sold it at a gold jewelry shop in Beni Bazaar for Rs 2, 505,” Acharya added.



Though police found the boy´s slippers on the river´s banks, his body remains untraced. Police have lodged a kidnapping and murder case against Biswakarma.
