JCB accident in Udayapur claims life of young operator

The JCB (registration no. Ko 1 Ka 2795) veered off the Mirchaiya–Katari–Ghurmi section of the Siddhicharan Highway at around 8:15 p.m. and plunged nearly 30 meters off the road.

UDAYAPUR, July 6: A JCB operator died on the spot after a fatal accident in Katari Municipality-8, located in the western region of Udayapur, late last night.


The JCB (registration no. Ko 1 Ka 2795) veered off the Mirchaiya–Katari–Ghurmi section of the Siddhicharan Highway at around 8:15 p.m. and plunged nearly 30 meters off the road.

According to DSP Kamal Bajgain of the Area Police Office, Katari, the vehicle lost control while reversing on a bend after completing work on a ward-level road project. The JCB overturned during the maneuver.


The rear wheel of the machine reportedly crushed the operator, 22-year-old Nabin Shrestha of Sorungchhabise, Katari-10, killing him instantly.
