KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Authorities have built pedestrian bridges, zebra crossings, and pelican crossings on Kathmandu Valley’s roads to ensure pedestrian safety and convenience. However, many people still ignore these facilities and cross the road recklessly due to a lack of awareness and negligence, increasing the risk of accidents and casualties.

Even when a pedestrian bridge stands nearby, many choose to cross the road below the bridge, worsening the problem. People must develop safe road-crossing habits and correct this negligence.
