Bauddha put up a lackluster performance and never threatened the Jawalakhel goal.
"The win was an anniversary gift to the club and a birthday gift to our player Thomas Wangira," said a delighted Jawalakhel coach Kishor KC. "We are out of relegation zone now," he added. KC opined that the easy win was made possible as the goals came early in the first half.
Bauddha coach Kiran Shrestha said other teams are taking advantage of the absence of foreign players in his team. "I have asked the club management to enroll more players in the team but they have turned a deaf ear," said Shrestha.
Jawalakhel climbed to the eighth position with 14 points from 10 matches. Bauddha lies at the bottom with only one point from 10 matches.
MMC moves to second position
Meanwhile, three goals after the interval helped APF defeat MMC and climb to the second position in the league table. MMC has 21 points from 10 matches, four points behind leader Three Star.
Sabindra Shrestha opened the scoring for MMC in the 48th minute through spot-kick. Referee Sudish Pandey had penalized APF after Rajendra Rawal brought down Shiva Shrestha. Sabindra´s goal was the 200th of the ongoing league.
Shrestha doubled the lead utilizing a pass from Amir Shrestha in the 58th minute. Fils Sergio Chico made it 3-0 for APF in the 86th minute. Chico received a pass from Anil Gurung and fired it into the far post from the right flank.
Earlier, MMC missed some chances in the first half. Sabindra Shrestha´s 35-yard free kick rebounded off the bar before Sunil BK missed from the danger zone in the ninth minute. BK again hit the woodwork in the 29th minute. Anil Gurung beat an offside trap but fired high after receiving a flicked header from Nirajan Malla in the 33rd minute. Malla and Zambo Anatole Thierry played a couple of quick passes before Zambo fired inches wide in the 38th minute.
The best chance for APF came in the 42nd minute but Shyam Nepali´s shot in Arjun Subba´s pass rebounded off the bar.
APF coach Janak Singh blamed the referee and assistant referees for his side´s defeat. "We failed to utilize our chances but our players played against 14 men. The referee and his assistants were biased today," said Singh. "The referee awarded an unnecessary penalty to MMC and it turned out to be the turning point of the match," said Singh.
APF is in the 12th spot after 10 matches with nine points, only two points more than relegation-threatened Iceberg Madhyapur Youth Association.
Singh´s counterpart Krishna Thapa said Singh´s reaction was triggered by his side´s defeat. "As we had lost our last match, win was necessary for us today. We added full three points to our tally today but I´m not satisfied with the performance," said Thapa.
