Janamat Party Chairman Raut has claimed that certain forces opposed to the unification with the NUP are trying to create divisions by instigating family disputes and even issuing death threats.
CK Raut made the claim through a statement posted on his Facebook page on Thursday. “Many powerful groups are disturbed because a new, powerful party that emerged from the people’s movement and is working in the interest of the people is on the rise in Nepal,” he wrote.
He claimed that those who do not want to see Janamat and NUP as powerful forces have been making continuous efforts to destroy both parties over the past seven–eight months.
Raut wrote, “Whether it's by creating disputes within families to cause division, using money, vehicles, and resources to influence party officials, publishing various types of news in the media to defame and discredit us, inciting attacks in the name of religion or ethnicity, plotting to split the party, trying to buy central members and MPs, or issuing threats to kill me or arrest Resham Chaudhary again— they have done everything they can.”
However, Raut claims that the Janamat Party is not worried. He further wrote, “Do not worry. Since the unity is based on the people's sentiments and aspirations, we will definitely proceed forward with the unification. Unity will happen.”
