They have launched a strike demanding that the municipality provide their salary of the last three months and deposit provident fund of the last seven months.
Following the protest, the garbage collection in the city has come to a standstill and service recipients, who visit the municipality office, return empty-handed.
When asked what the authority, the municipality administration said lack of budget is the cause. The civic body needs Rs. 550,000 to meet its employees’ demands.
It was said that 11 retired employees are yet to receive their dues.
