Janakpur Bolts struggle in batting against Sudurpaschim Royals in NPL first qualifier

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Janakpur Bolts put up an average batting performance against Sudurpaschim Royals in the first qualifier of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament. After winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Janakpur managed to score 61 runs for the loss of 3 wickets after 10 overs.

Lahiru Milantha was dismissed for 12 runs, caught LBW by Sudurpaschim captain Dipendra Singh Airee. Captain Asif Sheikh followed soon after, bowled out for 11 runs by Saif Zaib. Shubh Kansakar also struggled, being run out by Airee for 26 runs.


Janakpur is currently led by Asif Sheikh, as the regular captain, Anil Sah, is taking rest due to injury. The winner of this match will secure a direct spot in the final, while the losing team will face Karnali Yaks in the second qualifier on Thursday. Karnali earned their place in the second qualifier after defeating Chitwan Rhinos.
