KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will play an important role to teach yoga from the school level.
Speaking on the occasion of the 8th National Yoga Day organized in Bhaktapur on Sunday, he said that yoga should be taught at the school level to make people physically and mentally fit. He said that if yoga education can be prioritized at the school and university level, we can give yoga instructors from Nepal to the world and give a new identity to Nepal.
Yoga – An Ancient Blessing
Prime Minister Dahal said that the development of spiritual and psychological consciousness is inevitable through yoga education. "Not only to make people physically fit, but also to keep people mentally fit, if we promote yoga education at the school level and take it up to universities, we can give yoga instructors all over the world and give Nepal a new identity," he said.
Prime Minister Dahal said that there are many cases of depression and suicide in materially prosperous countries and yoga is necessary to keep people mentally fit. He said that there is a need for yoga, meditation and sadhana to solve the problems arising due to lack of spiritual thinking, psychology, meditation and yoga.
"Even in countries that are physically very developed, many people go to depression due to the lack of spiritual thinking, psychology, meditation, and yoga," he said. The statistics of suicide are higher there.
Prime Minister Dahal promised to take institutional management on behalf of the government to bring yoga education to the masses. He argues that it is necessary to protect yoga education in order to build culture, identity and tradition and to stay agile.
