It is govt’s duty to preserve native traditions: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is the government’s responsibility to preserve native traditions of the Nepali people.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is the government’s responsibility to preserve native traditions of the Nepali people. 


Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of Jyapu Day in Kathmandu on Sunday, PM Deuba said that it is the government’s duty to preserve and continue the original traditions of the country. Stating that the Jyapu community is committed to preserving the cultures and traditions of the Kathmandu Valley, PM Deuba claimed that the government is prepared to give its full support to the community as well.

He further said that the traditions and cultures have established a feeling of unity among everyone and that effective measures to preserve them should be intensified and promoted. 


He also clarified that the government had announced a country-wide public holiday on this occasion as the Jyapu community has one of the oldest cultures in the country.
