KATHMANDU, June 13: Israel launched a military strike on Iran early Friday morning, confirmed by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz. In anticipation of possible retaliatory attacks, Israel has declared a state of emergency.
Minister Katz, announcing emergency measures, said, "Following our strike on Iran, there is a heightened risk of missile or drone attacks targeting our population. As a precaution, all educational institutions, gatherings, and workplaces, except for essential services, are suspended." According to Israeli military officials, multiple locations were targeted, primarily Iran's nuclear facilities and other military infrastructure.
Reports indicate that the United States was briefed in advance about the planned strike. This led the U.S. to begin evacuating its citizens from certain regions, fearing possible retaliatory attacks by Iran, particularly on U.S. military bases in Iraq. Iranian state-affiliated media outlet Nour News reported hearing explosions northeast of Tehran.
