“We are not going to launch any protest during Dashain keeping in mind the festival of our Hindu brothers and sisters. But we will take strong step after Dashain,” said Nazrul Hasan Falahi, ISN chairman, at a press conference organized in the capital on Monday.
Falahi said they would continue their protest until Faizan´s family gets justice. “Our protests are going on as we have been meeting with various human rights activists and organizations."
He criticized the government for not implementing an agreement regarding forming a high-level commission to probe the murder.
“We urge the home minister to implement the agreement honestly. The government had agreed to form a high-level commission by including Muslim representatives to investigate the murder but nothing has been done except deciding to form a panel,” added Falahi.
ISN has also demanded that the government ensure security for Muslim people.
Speaking at the same function, the chairman of Nepal Muslim Federation, Taj Mohammad Miyan, said Muslim community itself will make security arrangement if the government failed to act.
Meanwhile, the World Hindu Federation (WHF) and Inter-Religious Council have condemned the murder and demanded that Faizan be declared a religious martyr.
As Faizan was a religious teacher, we urge the government to declare Faizan a religious martyr and provide compensation to the family of the deceased, the two organizations said in their press statements.
