After an exciting and fruitful competition at the Miss World 2013 pageant held in Indonesia, the Nepali beauty queen arrived home in Nepal on Tuesday. “The support and love that everyone had for me were unexpected, but deeply appreciated. I’m very happy that the six months of hard work paid off and I was successful. During my time there, I tried my best to show what Nepal is and I’ve also talked about the cultures and traditions of our country,” she said.

Ishani emphasized on the need of support and encouragement for future Miss Nepals. The love that Nepalis show for the beauties who represent their country in the global arena is an integral part of them being successful at such events, she said. “We need support, not only when we’re returning but also when we leave for pageants,” Ishani added.
As Miss Nepal and a dental student, Ishani will give continuity to her project. Declaring that she’s committed to Project Smile for life, she said, “I will not only be concentrating in Jumla but all over Nepal, and I hope that it can also have an international impact someday. Every single Rupee of the US$10,000 that I won will be utilized for the project.”
She recalls her Miss World journey as being exciting and warm, despite the competition that was on. Ishani managed to make friends and win the hearts of various international beauties like Miss Ecuador and Miss Montenegro, who rooted for Ishani and hoped that she would win the crown.
After 13 years of participation in Miss World beauty pageants, this is the first time that Miss Nepal was able to win a title and reach the Top Ten position.
