Rawat eased past Tamang 6-0, 6-0 in the U-14 girls´ singles to secure a place in the semifinals. She was joined in the last-four by Karuna Gauchan, Anne Mathema and Cathy Mathema.[break]
Gauchan also registered a comfortable victory as she crushed Medhavi Giri 6-1, 6-0.
The Mathema sisters, on the other hand, had contrasting fortunes. Anne was made to work hard en route to a 6-3, 6-3 win over Utsavi Joshi while Cathy made it to the semifinals after her opponent Khushi Pandey retired hurt. Cathy won the first set 6-3 and was leading 2-1 in the second set when Pandey got injured and quit the game.
In the U-16 girls´ singles, Mayanka Rana advanced into the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Manjita Nyochhan but her twin sister had a disappointing day as she lost to Bijisha Shrestha by the same scoreline. Bibhuti Karki also advanced to the semifinals receiving a bye.
In the U-16 boys´ singles, Anjan Shrestha handed a double bagel to Sahaj Thing to secure a place in the quarterfinals. In other pre-quarterfinal matches, Abhaya Gauchan defeated Govinda Pakhrin 6-1, 6-1, Abhishek Bista saw off Bijesh Swar 7-6, 6-4, Akash Lamkhor beat Navin Pun 6-0, 6-1 and Chandra Man Rokaya ousted Bivek Shrestha 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Saksham Karki, Avash Malla and Kastup Raj Pandey reached the quarterfinals after receiving byes.
Samrakshak Bhushan Bajracharya was another player to steal the show on Tuesday. Bajracharya defeated Rahul Singh 6-0, 6-0 in the U-12 boys´ singles section. Prashant Basnet and Pranav Khanal also handed double bagels to Saryans Tamor and Abhinav Acharya respectively.
Meanwhile, Adit Subedi beat Bardhan Pokharel 6-0, 6-1, Satyap Ilme defeated Sulah Dhital 7-6, 6-1, Samyak Bhushan Bajracharya saw off Subham Chaudhary 6-2, 6-2 and Utsav Khadka defeated Shreeyans Shrestha 6-2, 6-1 in other matches of the same age group.
Renjen Thapa advanced into the quarterfinals after receiving a walkover from Utsav Thapa.
Subhashi Shrestha defeated Aja Regmi 8-2 to secure a berth in the semifinals of U-9 girls´ singles. Palista Shakya earned a walkover while Abhilasha Bista and Agrima Mainali received byes to reach the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Aryan Giri, Aditya Subedi, Abhi Joshi and Aki Juben Rawat entered the semifinals of U-9 boys´ singles winning their respective matches.
