Ayush Raj Tuladhar, the founder of NGamers Club, an organization that was established with the objective of creating professionalism in e-sports in Nepal says, “The prospect of gaming in Nepal with respect to PC, console and mobile has become better and the craze in people towards gaming from all over Nepal has been marvelous. Thousands of people attend our gaming tournaments and we have different corporate companies sponsoring our events too.”

According to Tuladhar, with the sustenance of the gaming market, it has also been evolving as a career option for many people. Technological advancement that has improved the quality of graphics and invention of different devices as VR, Xbox, PS4 have been the reasons why virtual games are turning into real life experiences. When asked about the importance of gaming, Tuladhar states, “Research proves that gaming reduces drug addiction and several team games help to enhance teamwork. Also, it teaches people different life skills.”

The Week’s Joshna Karki talked to a few passionate gamers to find out which game holds their interest at the moment. If you have always wanted to venture into the world of gaming but didn’t know where to start, here are some good options.

Dead Trigger 2

Linus Dhakal

Dead Trigger 2 is a first person zombie shooter arcade game that takes players to a parallel world, where humanity is engaged in a battle against zombies for control of the earth. The reality of this worldwide apocalyptic conflict is underlined by the fact that the game is played in real time.

When it comes to Android FPS games, Dead Trigger 2 is the best. Although it was released few years back, I’ve not found a single FPS game that could beat it. Its breathtaking graphics is the major attraction. The world map full of different missions comprises different environments. Each mission that remains unaccomplished teaches you to take better decisions. The mission is another major attraction that got me addicted to this game.

The storyline is very strong and you will find yourself going with the flow as the game progresses. The armor of Dead Trigger 2 has a wide range of weapons classified under different categories and the different missions require the player to use different class of weapons which makes it more fun. The categories include melee, handgun, SMG, shotgun, assault rifle, rifle, heavy and exotic. The skill required to play this game is focus. Had it been humans instead of zombies, my love for the game would have been the same.

Uncharted 4

Everyone knows about Uncharted 4. Or at least I think they do. And if they don’t they should. I follow PS4 game trailers and game plays for upcoming games, and I had been waiting for Uncharted 4 since the mid 2015. The game has vibrant graphics and smoothly choreographed action sequences. Being a literature admirer, Uncharted 4 for me is like being part of an interesting storyline where the story keeps on unfolding as the game advances. If one wants to see how the character of Nathan Drake and the premise of the Uncharted 4 series have evolved, the game is your answer. The game doesn’t need much selling; it’s like a mini adventure where you go on solving mysteries and riddles. And, being a big fan of riddles and puzzles, the art of the graphic development tickles every inch of my creative bone.

Dota 2

 Saurav Shrestha

A genius game that demands cooperation as well as emphasis on individual skill, the game has 100 heroes that make Dota 2 more entertaining. It is like a multiplayer chess which offers endless combinations and possibilities adding to its uniqueness and adventure. The fact that Dota allows players to implement different strategies in each game makes it very addictive. I used to play many offline adventure games before but one day I went to my cousin’s house where they were all playing Dota 1. The game was new to me and I wanted to try it out. Then, I performed a very silly move in the world of Dota. I felt stupid and worked on educating myself about the game. With focus and dedication, you can compete with any good player in the world and actually surpass them too. Dota 2, in the virtual world, gives you everything you are missing out in life.

Grand Theft Auto V

Arun Sanjel

The game is an interactive mission with great storyline and gameplay. GTA V features free roaming with many side missions and quests. With a huge map directing you to places you are supposed to go, it has multiplayer option in online play. Grand Theft Auto V features three playable protagonists: Michael, Trevor and Franklin which easily switchable, and that adds to the thrill of the game. I have been playing GTA V for a long time. I got introduced to the game through friends at school and shifted to internet to seek more, know more and play more. I love playing open world games and GTA V is one of the best open world games.

Fifa Mobile Soccer

Bibek Rajbhandari

My brother recommended I play this game. With matches that feature real players, it is really addictive. I lost many matches

at the beginning but as I played, I improved. The game bases its theme on daily events of the world for its live event. Also, the clan versus clan tournament is an interesting part of gameplay.  An event I will always remember while playing the game was when I bought C. Ronaldo in the Fifa 15 Ultimate Team. That took me a year. And, the other incident that is etched in my memory is when I beat my brother in Fifa for the first time. The final score was 3-2. As I love football, Fifa has been a game I can play all the time and yet never get bored of.
