The rally was participated by sports journalists, sports officials and invitees from Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and Nepal Press Union.
The 15th International Sports Journalists Day and the 85th Anniversary of the establishment of International Sports Press Association (AIPS) is being celebrated worldwide by the member associations of AIPS.
"NSJF is an important cog of the wheel of AIPS," AIPS president Gianni Merlo wrote in his message on the occasion.
FNJ president Dharmendra Jha praised NSJF as the best associate association of the umbrella organization of the journalists and stressed on the need of developing specialized journalism for the professionalism in the journalism.
FNJ General Secretary Poshan KC and NSJF president Niranjan Rajbanshi also spoke on the occasion.
According to Rajbanshi, the district branch associations are also holding programs to mark the day in Pokahra, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Hetauda.
