INTERPOL issues diffusion notice against Amala Roka, defendant in 61 kg gold smuggling case

KATHMANDU, Feb 7:  International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has issued a diffusion notice against Amala Roka, the defendant in the 61 kg gold smuggling case.

According to Central Investigation Department (CIB) Spokesperson Nawaraj Adhikari, INTERPOL has issued a diffusion notice against Roka, based on the recommendation made by the National Control Bureau (NCB) Kathmandu.

She is the wife of Dawa Chiring, a Belgian citizen who was named in the gold scandal. Hotel Vienna in Thamel is registered in her name.

Earlier, the DRI had recovered 61 kg of gold that had passed the customs revenue check at Tribhuvan International Airport on July 18.

After 19 days, DRI submitted the file to CIB for field investigation.
