Interim committee of NCC announced under Thapa’s chairmanship

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) formed the 91st National Coordination Council (NCC) virtually in Iceland on Sunday. Under the patronage of the NRNA's President, Dr Badri KC, the meeting announced an interim committee chaired by Subhas Singh Thapa. It also tasked Thapa with proposing a full committee within the next week.

LONDON. May 19: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) formed the 91st National Coordination Council (NCC) virtually in Iceland on Sunday. Under the patronage of the NRNA's President, Dr Badri KC, the meeting announced an interim committee chaired by Subhas Singh Thapa. It also tasked Thapa with proposing a full committee within the next week.


Dr KC addressed the meeting, calling the NRNA a "common platform for Nepalis living abroad." He instructed the newly formed committee to convey the problems of Nepalis in Iceland to the Nepal government, strengthen mutual harmony, and promote philanthropic and investment-focused initiatives. He highlighted the association's philanthropic, economic, and skill-investment achievements since it was established in 2003 under the motto "Nepalis for Nepalis."

Vice President Dr Hem Raj Sharma emphasized the significant potential for investment, education, and philanthropy within the Non-Resident Nepali campaign. He described occasional disputes within the organization as natural waves in a vast ocean and noted that Iceland's involvement in the global network marks a notable achievement.


Women's Vice President Rojina Pradhan Rai congratulated the new committee and urged them to actively involve women. General Secretary Gauriraj Joshi advised the committee to regularly coordinate with the central office to strengthen institutional governance.


Europe Coordinator Chiranjivi Khadka chaired the program, and NRNA Europe Secretary Bhuvan Aryal conducted it. Vice Presidents Dr Hem Raj Sharma and Ramsharan Simkhada, Women's Coordinator Parsuna Kandel, Co-Coordinator Raju Aryal, central members, and councilors attended the event in large numbers.
