KATHMANDU, July 21: An international team of experts is hosting an interaction in Nepal to suggest the government on tapping the potentialities for economic development.


Frost & Sullivan's Emerging Market Innovation team is hosting a webinar on July 28 that will have a panel of experts assessing the country's economic and industrial growth potential and highlighting national priorities including attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic diversification, according to a press note issued by the Frost & Sullivan's Nepal Office on Thursday.

Featuring commentary from the government and industry barons, as well as Frost & Sullivan Senior Partners, the webinar is going to enable to gain deeper insights into the economy, vision for Nepal, investment opportunities, and success stories of local companies as well as multinational corporations.


The expert panel of presenters, who are closely monitoring the nation's growth and development, will comprise of Aroop Zutshi, Global President and Managing Partner, Frost & Sullivan; Manoj Menon, Senior Partner and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Frost & Sullivan; Ram Sharan Mahat, former finance minister and senior leader of Nepali Congress; Arjun Kumar Karki, secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport; Abhimanyu Poddar, Managing Director of Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd; Padma Jyoti, Chairman of Jyoti Group; and Aroop Zutshi, Global President and Managing Partner, Frost & Sullivan.


"Nepal is poised to attract more business with its imminent transition beyond least developed country status, FDI promotion across key growth industries, enabling business environment compared to regional peers, and strategic location between emerging giants- China and India," Zutshi is quoted in the press note.


The accelerated development of special economic zones, untapped hydropower potential, and development of transport infrastructure in Nepal will give rise to growth opportunities in the country over the next few years, he said, adding that the webinar will give deeper insights into the development and policies associated with key growth industries including manufacturing and energy, leverage information from government representatives on Nepal's growth, development, and national priorities, and hear from companies who have successfully expanded their businesses in Nepal.
