KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Dr Mathura Prasad Shrestha, a leader of the human rights movement and a senior left-wing intellectual, has passed away.

According to Annapurna Neuro Hospital located in Maitighar, he died at the age of 88 years at 4:15 this morning. He was admitted to the hospital after suffering from post-covid problems.
Meanwhile, chairman of CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has paid tributes to Dr Shrestha through his social media, recalling the opportunity to honor him a few days ago. Oli has also expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
