Innovative, Manakamana reach semis

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Innovative School, Kathmandu, and Manakamana School, Pokhara, reached the semifinals of the Second U-14 Inter School National Basketball Tournament in the boys´ section.



Innovative defeated Pushpasadan, Kathmandu 48-20 on Monday on the court of the National Sports Council Covered Hall and booked its berth in the last four. Ajay Kunwar scored 18 points for the winning side.[break]



Riding on Dilman Pun´s 18 points, Manakamana edged past Trungram International Academy (TIA), Kathmandu 50-30.



Likewise, Wilson Academy set up a semifinal clash against Ideal Model School in the boys section. Wilson pulled a 34-32 victory over Greenland as Amar Singh scored 20 points for the winning side. Ideal beat Rara Hill 39-30 to reach semifinal.



Meanwhile, Valley Public, Daffodil, TIA and Angels Heart booked semifinal berths in the girls´ section of the tournament, organized by Nepal Basketball Association.

Valley Public beat Rato Bangala 17-11 as Soniya Limbu top scored for the winning side with six points. In semifinal, Valley Public will take on Daffodil, which defeated Pennwood 18-12.



Likewise, TIA thrashed Everest 13-7 as Aakriti Gurung alone scored 11 points. TIA will lock horns with Angels Heart in the semifinal on Tuesday. Angels Heart pulled a 14-11 victory over Innovative.
