Information technology council constituted

BARGACHHI, (Biratnagar), Dec 23: Minister for Science and Technology, Kalpana Dhamala on Friday said the government has constituted the science and technology council for the development of the IT sector.



Inaugurating the IT Fair that commenced in Biratnagar from today, she said that the council was constituted on Thursday.[break]



Stating that the IT sector was lagging behind in terms of development in the country as the government allocated inadequate budget for this sector, the minister for science and technology said priority would be given to this sector in the coming budget.



Only 0.38 per cent of the total national budget is allocated to the science and technology sector.



The CAN Infotech 2011 aims at informing the people about the IT technology and new products. The tech fair will last for four days. Ninety stalls have been kept at the fair.
