Info-Tech attracts 54k visitors on Day 5

KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Midas CAN Info-Tech 2013 attracted 54,365 on Sunday - the fifth day of the event.



Most of the exhibitors at the mega ICT event said they have received good enquiries which they said would be helpful to appoint dealers for their products and services.

Nikhil Bansal, director at Hi-Tech Engineering, said the ´Business Day´ was fruitful for them as he met number of potential companies interested to take DigiCom dealership. “We will finalize dealership issues once the event is over,” Bansal said.[break]



Likewise, Murari Mohan Jha of S Power BPE said he hopes to appoint 80 dealers before the event concludes. “The event was beneficial for us both in terms of branding as well as exploring business opportunities,” added Jha.



Former Prime Minister and President of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal, who visited the fair on Sunday, said the development of IT was crucial for economic growth. “Event like CAN Info-Tech are important for the promotion of the IT sector," he said.



CPN-UML leaders Raghuji Pant and Rajendra Pandey, and Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa among others also visited the Info-Tech on Sunday.



“Visits of political leaders and enquires of visitors will encourage exhibitors to come up with wide range of products and service in the coming days,” said CAN President Binod Dhakal. “Growing footfall at Info-Tech reflects people´s growing interest toward ICT products and services,” Dhakal said, adding that the event was attracting visitors from all age groups and sectors.



The six-day event has already attracted more than 370,000 visitors till Sunday. The event concludes on Monday.
