KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Famous Indian singer Sonu Nigam has said that he is looking forward to meeting the Nepali audience.
Sending a video message for the musical program called 'Sonu Nigam Live in Nepal' to be held at Hyat Chaur, Bouddha Tusalmarg on December 25, he said that this will be his first concert in Nepal.

He said, “Although I have performed many Nepali songs, I have not performed a concert in Nepal. Now, the opportunity to meet the Nepali audience has finally greeted me. I am waiting for that day. I will leave no stone unturned to entertain the audience present through Nepali and Indian songs.”
Director of the organizing committee Nepali Touch Nepal, Abhinash Ghimire, said that singer Nigam is being brought to Nepal because he can perform Nepali songs along with the singers who are in demand recently.
“He has sung many Nepali songs. No concert has been organized with him in Nepal before. That is why we are going to present him to the Nepali audience. He will perform with a musical group. He is very excited and looking forward to be here,' said Director Ghimire. He informed that the stage preparation work has reached the final stage.
Director Ghimire informed that 6,000 spectators have already purchased tickets for the 12,000-capacity Hayat Chaur. “We have made preparations to make the program civilized and grand. Accordingly, after Australia and Hong Kong, we have also started organizing programs in Nepal. In the coming days, we are preparing to systematically present domestic and foreign artists to the Nepali audience,” he said.
Songs sung by singer Nigam, including 'Yo Zindagidale', 'Ukali Orali Garang', 'Phulko Dali Dalima', 'Yo Mayale Heran', are popular among Nepalis. Similarly, songs in Hindi, including 'Mere Dholana Sun', 'Kal Hona Ho', 'Saathiya', 'Papa Meri Jaan', 'Abhi Mujh Me Kabhi', are classics in their genre.
The organizers have stated that tickets for the program range from a minimum of Rs 2,000 to a maximum of Rs 50,000. According to the organizers, singer Nigam will arrive in Nepal on the morning of Poush 10.
