Indian national arrested in possession of yellow metal that looks similar to gold from TIA

KATHMANDU, July 16: Police at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) arrested an Indian national on Monday night for attempting to smuggle 99 grams and 41 milligrams of a yellow metal that looks like gold.

KATHMANDU, July 16: Police at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) arrested an Indian national on Monday night for attempting to smuggle 99 grams and 41 milligrams of a yellow metal that looks like gold.


Central Police Spokesperson DIG Dan Bahadur Karki reported the arrest of 41-year-old Deepak Jayaram Das Ghind.

"He arrived in Kathmandu from Sharjah via Air Arabia flight and was apprehended during customs inspection at Tribhuvan International Airport last night," said Karki.


In addition to the metal, authorities seized one necklace piece, two bangle pieces, four mobile phones, and four laptops from Ghind's possession.


Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
