Indian minister calls on prez Yadav

KATHMANDU, June 25: Indian Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, paid a courtesy call on President Ram Baran Yadav at Sheetal Niwas on Thursday.

On the occasion, they discussed on various aspects of Nepal-India relations as well as the loss caused by the Gorkha earthquake.


Expressing gratitude towards India for its support in the rescue and relief task during the disaster, President Yadav urged Swaraj for their support in the reconstruction, rehabilitation, resettlement and new construction, told President's Press Advisor Rajendra Dahal.

The Indian External Affairs Minister said that the government of India was always with the government of Nepal and the Nepalese and expressed the commitment to provide continuous support in the reconstruction task of Nepal.

Present on the occasion were legal advisor of the President, Surya Dhungel, Secretary at the Office of the President, Anup Kumar Upadhyay, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, and high-officials of the Indian Embassy. RSS
