KANCHANPUR, Feb 28: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Jayant Prasad, has expressed the commitment to open the bridge at the Sarada Barrage, the western border point, round the clock.

Speaking at a programme organised by the Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Indian Ambassador Prasad said that a new bridge will be built at an appropriate location through consensus between high-level officials of Nepal and India as goods-loaded vehicles could not ply through the bridge at the Sarada barrage site which is in a dilapidated condition.[break]

He said both the countries will be able to conduct business smoothly after the construction of the bridge.

President of KCCI, Ganesh Dutta Joshi, familiarized the Indian Ambassador about the atrocities on entrepreneurs and public by SSB.

Prasad also inspected a multi-span suspension bridge constructed over the Mahakali River. The bridge is a model bridge in Asia.

He has a programme to inspect the Tanakpur dam on Thursday.
