Indian envoy releases book on federalism

KATHMANDU, March 25: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayanta Prasad released a book entitled "Nepal as a Federal State: Lessons from the Indian Experience" amidst a function held in the capital on Sunday.



The book published jointly by Center for South Asian Studies, Kathmandu and Center for Security Analysis, Chennai deals with federalism in India and the lessons that Nepal can draw from the Indian experience for the future federal setup in Nepal. [break]



Addressing the book release function, Indian envoy Prasad, industrialist Binod Kumar Chaudhary, former ambassador Shambhu Ram Simkhada and senior economist Bishwambher Pyakuryal shed light on various aspects of federalism, including economic viability, security and foreign policy, and the Indian experience that Nepal can learn from.
