Indian envoy Rae meets PM-elect Oli at Balkot

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Bhaktapur, Oct 12: Ambassador of India to Nepal, Ranjit Rae has extended his congratulations and best wishes to newly-elected Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Ambassador Rae reached Oli residence at Balkot in Bhaktapur this morning to congratulate him. Rae who reached there at 8.30 am returned after an hour.

In a 15 minute one-to-one meeting between the two, matters related to enhancing the bilateral relations between Nepal and India and removing obstructions at the Nepal-India border to ease transportation of goods were discussed.

Earlier, outgoing Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit reached Oli residence at 7.00 am to congratulate him.

On Sunday afternoon, Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Xunthai had congratulated PM Oli reaching CPN-UML party headquarters at Dhumbarahi.

On Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated newly-elected prime minister KP Sharma Oli in a telephone conversion and assured him of taking initiatives to resolve the ongoing crisis.
