The star batsman of the Indian cricket team, Suresh Raina, married his lady love, Priyanka Chaudhary, on April 3, 2015. Raina and Priyanka have been childhood friends, and a private wedding in Delhi, tied these buddies together in the sacred knot.

The beautiful bride hails from Baraut, Uttar Pradesh. She is an IT professional with a bank in Netherlands. As per various reports, she did B.Tech from an engineering college in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Several reports also suggest that Priyanka might leave her job to stay in India after marriage.

The couple's love story

Although the couple knew each other since childhood, they were hardly in touch after Priyanka's family shifted base to Punjab. And, the cricketer talked about the same in an interview with Times of India.

The match-fixing

Yes you read it right! The match was fixed by the parents of these two. The marriage was fixed while Raina was away in Australia for four months, for the cricket world cup. His mother arranged the whole thing with Priyanka's family.

Engagement ceremony

The pre-wedding ceremonies started for this couple on April 1, 2015. The two got engaged and it was a low-key affair that took place at the cricketer's Ghaziabad residence. Raina looked dapper in a white kurta teamed up with red jacket.

Raina's friend and famous restaurateur, Priyank Sukhija, hosted a bachelor party for him at his own venture, Lutyens Cocktail House, in New Delhi, on April 2, 2015. The cricketer's friends seemed like having a gala time. Among the celebrity guests at this event, Bollywood actor, Arjun Rampal, was spotted at the do. Raina's friend and model, Zulfi Syed, was also seen at the party.

Honeymoon plans

Suresh Raina had already mentioned that they will not have much time for each other right after marriage. The dedicated cricketer will get pitch-busy with the IPL preparations. At the same time, he wants Priyanka to focus on her career, so she will soon fly back to the Netherlands after the wedding. They have planned to fly to Milan post IPL, for their honeymoon.
