DHADING, April 6: Police arrested a person today morning with a large cache of hashish when he was on the verge of transferring it to Birgunj from Kathmandu.
Sachikanta Kushwaha, 24, of Manipur, India was held in this connection. Police, in course of carrying out a vehicle check, confiscated 160.5 kilogrammes of the banned substance from the container bearing Indian registration number plate (HR 55 X 2549) where Kushwaha was driving, Deputy Superintendent Ram Bahadur KC said.
A joint police team of the District Police Office and the Area Police Office, Gajuri confiscated the contraband which was being smuggled to India. An investigation is ungoing in this connection, police said.
