KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra called on the newly-appointed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi on Tuesday.
According to a press statement issued by the Indian embassy, Ambassador Kwatra congratulated Minister Rayamajhi for his appointment as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and conveyed his best wishes.

The duo also held discussions on several forward looking areas of cooperation in the power sector between India and Nepal including facilitation and early completion of several large-scale joint projects, reads the statement.
India and Nepal have a multi-faceted engagement in the power sector which has significantly deepened in the last four to five years since the signing of the Power Trade Agreement in 2014. This includes Indian investments in Nepali hydropower sector, building of high voltage and medium voltage cross-border transmission lines, facilitation of power trade as well as coordination on grid operations.
