About 2,000 demonstrators at the prison erupted in wild applause and climbed onto parked cars to get a glance of the 73-year-old activist as he walked through the gates of Tihar Jail.
"Long live the revolution," he said as he briefly addressed the crowd before climbing onto the back of a truck and driving off at the head of a slow-moving procession.

Hazare, who has been fasting since Tuesday, planned to hold a 15-day public hunger strike at a protest venue in the capital after reaching an agreement with police over the demonstration.
"The government will have to bend in front of this movement. This is just the trailer, the film is yet to start," said Prakash Khattar, a bank employee.
