KATHMANDU, Nov. 1: India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party secretary in Jammu and Kashmir Anil Parihar and his brother Anil Parihar were killed by the unidentified gunmen in Kisthwar district, according to Indian media reports.
The incident occurred when Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar were returning home in the Tapan Gali area, according to News18.
Talking to Indian news channels, the State BJP general secretary in Jammu and Kashmir, Ashok Kaul claimed that the two were shot dead by the terrorists.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Tweeter expressed grief over Parihar's death.
Kishtwar district is located in the Jammu region of the state.
The reason for the killing has yet to be ascertained, local police authorities said.
The police have reached the spot and are investigating the case.
The BJP had recently emerged as a clear winner in the Jammu Municipal Corporation elections held in October with 43 seats in the 75-member body.
In rest of the 446 wards spread across Jammu region covering a total of 36 municipal committees and councils, the BJP had an edge over its rivals in 15 bodies followed by Independents in 12 and the Congress in five.
Both the major regional parties -- National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party had boycotted the polls.
