India rejects encroachment allegations

KATHMANDU, June 5: The Indian embassy in Kathmandu has said the India has not encroached upon international border and there has not been any attack on the Nepali people by the India´s Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB).



The embassy has said that it cross-checked the factual situation with concerned Indian authorities, a press release issued on Friday stated. It labeled the alleged incursions and encroachment of Nepali territory and attacks on Nepali nationals as baseless.



The embassy has also confirmed that no border pillar has been shifted or tampered with. It has rejected the allegations made by some sections of the Nepali media over this issue.



The embassy has also pointed it has not received any formal communication from the government of Nepal regarding the "alleged" incidents. In response to queries from district authorities on the Indian side, their Nepali counterparts have conveyed that no reports have been registered with them in this regard.
