First batch of vaccines being shipped to Nepal tomorrow
KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The Government of India has provided a grant of 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal, according to Minister for Health and Population (MoHP), Hridayesh Tripathi .
Organizing a joint press meeting of MoHP and ambassador of India to Nepal, Minister Tripathi informed that the Indian government has provided 1 million COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.
The first installment of vaccines will be shipped tomorrow, he added.
In the first phase, the vaccines will be given to frontline health workers, employees and security personnel.
The government of Nepal had given a conditional approval to use Serum India Institute's AstraZeneca Covishield against the COVID-19 on Friday last week.
